Our Story

Taberna Del Alabardero

The first Taberna del Alabardero opened its doors in 1974, in front of the Royal Palace of Madrid, taking its name from the royal guard:
the alabarderos.

In 1989 we opened in Washington, where you can enjoy the best of traditional Spanish gastronomy, our well known wines and the warm hospitality of our home, which is also yours.

Taberna Del Alabardero Washington DC is part of Grupo Lezama, which has operated in Spain since 1974. Established in Madrid, Grupo Lezama manages other fine dining establishments in Marbella, Seville, Malaga, and Basque Country, as well as a prestigious culinary school in Seville.
